No change for Raiders in this week’s poll

Navarre’s football team remains at No. 7 in this week’s Associated Press 6A football poll. The Raiders (4-0) are coming off a 48-6 win over Fort Walton Beach Friday night and are one of six unbeaten teams in the top 10.

Reigning state champion Miami Central remains on top of the poll. It is 5-0 and received all 19 first-place votes. Mainland moves from third to second in the poll while Ocala Vanguard goes from fourth to third. Armwood drops from second to fourth after losing 29-27 to Plant City last Friday.

The only two new No. 1 teams are Cocoa in 4A and Oxbridge Academy in 3A. Both teams were ranked second in their respective polls last week.

Navarre is one of two area teams ranked in the top 10 in 6A. Niceville checks in at No. 8. Pine Forest received six votes and Tate received one vote. Gulf Breeze received two votes last week but didn’t get any this week after falling 42-33 to West Florida Tech.

The Raiders are back in action Friday when they hit the road to begin District 2-6A play against Pace. Navarre is the reigning district champion. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
