Juana’s helps make poker run a success once again

Kevin Rudzki, owner of Juana’s Pagodas on Navarre Beach, has been involved with the Emerald Coast Poker Run since day one and has watched the event grow every year.

This year’s event, which took place Saturday after nearly a week of events building up to the poker run, was the biggest yet.

“It’s our biggest business day of the year, and it was again this year,” Rudzki said. “The biggest difference this year is Friday was almost as big as some of our Saturdays in the past as far as poker runs go. The event is definitely growing and definitely having more of an economic impact.”

The poker run started 24 years ago and funds raised from it benefit the Emerald Coast Foundation, an organization that supports charities for children and youth organizations in Okaloosa County. More than $2 million has been raised since it began.
