Sophia safely reunited with family

Missing Gulf Breeze teen Sophia Best, 16, was  safely reunited with her parents Thursday.

Sophia went missing from Gulf Breeze on Aug. 12. The case remains under investigation, and details will be released at a later time.

The search for Sophia was a joint effort by the Gulf Breeze Police Department, FBI and KlaasKids Foundation.

As the search continues for missing Gulf Breeze teen Sophia Best, the FBI has taken over the investigation.

Sophia, 16, went missing Friday, Aug. 12. She was last seen in Gulf Breeze.

Anyone with information should call Gulf Breeze Police Department at 934-4050 or Klaas Kids Foundation at 855-733-5567.

Sophia is described as 5-feet, 9-inches tall with blue-green eyes and dark auburn hair. Sophia was wearing dark blue pants, a blue and white striped shirt and white shoes at the time of her disappearance. She also had a blue and yellow flowered backpack.

The Klaas Kids Foundation is working closely with the FBI to bring Sophia home.

The foundation has distributed hundreds of posters and posted them to social media and news outlets.

National Search Director Brad Davis said pushing the search through social media is the best bet at this time.
