MAN WITH GUN ARRESTED WHILE TRYING TO ENTER DISNEY WORLD

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday that Kevin Webb was charged with falsely impersonating an officer and carrying a concealed firearm. An arrest affidavit says Webb was selected to go through a metal detector Monday when he tried to enter the Magic Kingdom park. When he was stopped for his gun, Webb told a guard he was an off-duty officer and displayed police identification.

MIAMI AIRPORT PARKING GARAGE SHOOTING LEAVES 2 DEAD

News media outlets cite police as saying that a witness heard the men arguing about 6 a.m. Wednesday. He then heard a volley of gunshots, followed by a single one. Miami-Dade police Det. Marjorie Eloi says officers found both men dead: one on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds, and the other slumped against a car with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his face.

FUGITIVE WHO HID FOR DECADES BOOKED INTO FLORIDA JAIL

Marion County Jail records show that 67-year-old William Claybourne “Clay” Taylor was booked into the Marion County Jail in Ocala on Tuesday evening. He’s expected to have a brief first appearance hearing in court Wednesday. Authorities say Taylor lived with his wife under an assumed name — James Manion — in Reidsville, North Carolina, and was captured by the FBI on July 28.

MOSQUITO CONTROL DIRECTOR: MOSQUITO NUMBERS DROPPING IN MIAMI’S ZIKA ZONE

At a special county commission meeting Tuesday, Chalmers Vasquez said his department finds just one mosquito a day in each trap in the Wynwood district. He said about two dozen mosquitoes were found daily in the traps two weeks ago. The county hired contractors to boost its 12-person mosquito control staff to nearly 100 people. Vasquez said his department is responding to thousands of residents’ complaints about bug infestations.

FLORIDA MAN DIES WHILE DIVING OFF FLORIDA KEYS

Monroe County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Becky Herrin said in a news release that Antonio Marco Ramirez was diving with family and friends on Tuesday afternoon. His son told authorities that Ramirez became distressed and they quickly surfaced. Herrin says Ramirez was barely breathing when he was pulled from the water and stopped breathing on the boat.
