Surf’s up at PaddlePalooza

Children between the ages of 8 to 11 took to the waters of Navarre Beach and Black Water River July 18-22 for the second annual PaddlePalooza Summer Camp hosted by the Navarre Beach Marine Science Station.

Activities for the 23 campers started at 9 a.m. and finished by 3 p.m. each day. Campers went to the Gulf side beach to learn proper balance and etiquette for surfing.

One day of the camp was spent at Black Water River, learning how to kayak. Another day they learned how to Stand Up Paddle Board on the Sound side.

Campers were also Boogie boarded and snorkeled. They participated in educational activities such as shell identification, games and more.
