As time wanes, a bucket list becomes less adventurous

On a recent Sunday, a couple of hours before their kids were supposed to come over, Robert “Smitty” Smith called his wife to his bedside and told her, “I’m sorry. I don’t think I can make it.”
Robert “Smitty” Smith and his wife, Caren, celebrate a Lighting score during a game against the Anaheim Ducks at the Amalie Arena in Tampa. Smith attended the Lighting game with Caren and their two adult children on Sunday to cross an item off his bucket list. Smith was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in June.
