The occasionally wobbly agreement to run the Navarre Beach Pier that Coastal Concessions has with Santa Rosa County has been extended by commissioners through 2017.
In a unanimous vote, the panel renewed its relationship with locally-owned Coastal, which has endured criticism at times for falling behind on lease payments.
The only condition of the contract renewal, requested by District 2 Commissioner Bob Cole, is that Coastal do a more thorough job of documenting its ticket sales to pier goers.
Co-owners Stephanie Maddox and Scott Rayner told the board on Monday that they’re expecting 2016 to be the “biggest year in the pier history” with revenue topping $350,000. The company pays the county 5 percent of its revenue.
