An attempted robbery ended with one man being stabbed in the chest Saturday, July 9, at the Queen Mary Inn in Escambia County.
Gulf Breeze resident Alexander Thurkettle is charged with second degree felony battery with a deadly weapon, first degree felony robbery with a deadly weapon and first degree misdemeanor petit theft.
According to an Escambia County police report, Thurkettle approached the victim at the inn, produced a knife and demanded he give Thurkettle the contents of his pockets.
In his statement, the victim said he began to hand Thurkettle $150 before attempting to pull the money back at which point Thurkettle stabbed him in the chest with the knife.
