Sheriffs seize meth, firearms in Jay narcotics bust

Crystal methamphetamine and several firearms were seized by law enforcement Friday morning, July 8, during execution of a search warrant in Jay, Fla.

Jay residents Edgardo Rivera and Mariana Solano were arrested in connection with the investigation.

According to a Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office report, law enforcement found 14 oz of crystal methamphetamine worth more than $50,000 along with several assault rifles and hand guns. A cache of ammunition was also seized from the property at 3501 Hwy 4.

Among the items seize during the search were items stolen from neighboring counties.

The bust concluded a joint investigation effort by Santa Rosa County Sherriff’s Office Narcotics and SWAT, Drug Enforcement Administration, Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and Gulf Coast High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area.

The case remains under investigation.
