Books come to life at library

Dozens of grade schoolers crowded round to hear performances of classic children’s fables Monday, June 27, at Navarre Library’s annual Summer Reading Program.

Program events are held on Mondays at 1 p.m. in the Navarre Library Meeting Room for children that have completed kindergarten through fifth grade schooling and for 3- to 5-year-olds on Tuesdays at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Participants of all ages are asked to read (or be read to) for 15 minutes a day and fill out a reading log calendar between June 1 and July 15. Calendars can then be exchanged at the end of the program for prizes, such as sports bands, water bottles, back packs and of course books,  provided by the Friends of the Navarre Library.
