VFW awards students for patriotism

Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Officer, Patricia Harcrow-Orr presented three Navarre High School students with awards for their entries into the Young American Creative Patriotic Art competition.

The first place award was given to Faith Drake, whose winning work is on display in Orlando for the national VFW convention. Drake was awarded $100 for first place.

Second place was awarded to Olivia Brahms for her painting depicting the Black Hawk helicopters over the Santa Rosa Sound. Brahms garnered $75 for second place.

In a tie for third place, Destin Trevino's drawing of angel wings won him $25 in the art contest.

The tying third place piece was done entirely in ink by Sidnie Kikta. She was also awarded $25.
