Navarre JROTC relishes demands of academic competition

Nothing came easy for Navarre’s Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps at the national academic competition April 30 in Annapolis, Md.

“It was a lot more fast-paced and a lot more competitive than the regional competition, said C/ENS Hunter Richardson. “We were up against the best schools in the nation. It gets a lot more interesting.”

Despite the challenges, Navarre fared well, placing 13th out of 24 teams in the competition, which was held at the United States Naval Academy.

Participants were asked questions about subjects such as naval science, skills and leadership and C/PO3 Sarah Brown was amazed by just how tough the competition actually was.
