County and cities seek recycling in Perdido

The cities of Gulf Breeze and Milton are in discussions to mirror Santa Rosa County’s proposed agreement to send residents’ recyclables to the new Emerald Coast Utilities Authority facility in Escambia County when it opens this summer.

Separate contracts that are now in the works would join about 27,000 residents of the county and two municipalities with 75,000 Escambia citizens who are slated to use the new 50,000-square-foot recycling plant being built in unincorporated Perdido Key.
