MAN ARRESTED FOR DANGLING DOG OVER APARTMENT BALCONY

Ransom May was charged Tuesday with cruelty to animals. The video had been posted on several social media sites. An arrest report says May brought the white pit bull to the apartment where his daughter’s mother lives. While there, another woman knocked on the door, demanding that May return her dog.

ORLANDO CONSIDERS DECRIMINALIZING SMALL AMOUNTS OF POT

The city council will consider a measure on Monday that would give police officers the option of issuing civil fines instead of making arrests for possession of 20 grams of marijuana or less. The fines would be for $50 for first-time offenders. Second-time offenders would face fines of $100.

POLICE ID POSSIBLE SUSPECT IN CASE OF MISSING PRIEST

St. Johns County Sheriff’s Cmdr. Chuck Mulligan says Father Rene Wayne Robert was last seen around 1 p.m. Sunday. His 2012 blue Toyota with a Florida Special Olympics license plate is also missing. Mulligan says investigators want to talk with Steven James Murray, a Jacksonville man with a criminal background whom the senior priest with the Diocese of St. Augustine may have been counseling at the time of his disappearance.

WILDLIFE BIOLOGISTS CAPTURE FLORIDA PANTHER

Florida Fish and Wildlife officials said Wednesday they plan to release the panther into the wild in a more remote location of after giving him a health exam. Wildlife officials say the panther was one of two panthers that had been preying on small animals in the Farm Worker’s Village near Immokalee.

ORLANDO POLICE INVESTIGATE 6 MISSING BABY SWANS

Officers are actively investigating the case of six missing baby swans from Lake Eola. The cygnets were just one day old when they were discovered missing Tuesday. Reports say a park ranger heard the mother swan screaming early Tuesday morning, and when he went to see what was wrong, the nest holding the swans was empty.
