ORLANDO OFFICE SHOOTER DIES IN FLORIDA PRISON

A spokesman with the Florida Department of Corrections says Jason Rodriguez died Tuesday morning while at the Columbia Correctional Institution-Annex. DOC spokesman Alberto Moscoso says a medical examiner will determine the cause of death. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement also is investigating.

3 FUGITIVES WANTED IN SOUTH CAROLINA CAPTURED IN FLORIDA

The Leon County Sheriff’s Office reports in a news release that 24-year-old Quinton Edwards, 23-year-old Kwame Fernander and 19-year-old Kayla Black were arrested early Monday morning.

FLORIDA STATE SENATOR’S BOAT IN CRASH THAT INJURES 3

Authorities say 45-year-old Krystyna Vitiello faces a charge of boating under the influence. Vitiello is the sister of Simmons’ ex-wife. She told authorities that she had been driving the boat early Tuesday but that someone else was at the helm when it crashed.

3 CHILDREN, 1 ADULT DEAD IN CENTRAL FLORIDA CRASH

Authorities say three vehicles were involved in the crash west of DeLand. Florida Highway Patrol spokeswoman Kim Montes says one of the vehicles rolled over and caught fire.

All 80 cases of Zika reported in Florida so far stemmed from travel outside the U.S., including one case that was sexually transmitted. Suncoast Blood Bank CEO Scott Bush says his facility has rejected about 5 percent of recent donors for exposure to Zika overseas.
