Carter making strides on road to recovery

Already sweating nearly half-way into his hour-long physical therapy session at the Andrews Institute in Gulf Breeze, Michael Carter takes a moment to grab a drink of water.

Then it’s back to work for the heavily recruited Navarre running back.

He sets weights on a sled, lines up behind it and charges forward down the middle of the training room.

Carter is moving as fast as he can as he pushes the sled, fiery determination burning in his eyes, the strength of his brace-covered right knee being tested as he pushes himself to the limit.

It has been a little more than four months since an early September night in Pensacola when Carter was hit in the knee near the sideline as he carried the ball in a game against Washington.
