More substitute teachers sought in Santa Rosa

The pool of substitute teachers available for temporary classroom assignments in Santa Rosa County public schools has grown to more than 500 from about 350 since August, when a private staffing company took over their recruitment and training.

Yet dozens more qualified instructors are being sought to fill the need for an average of nearly 1,100 substitutes a week in the district, or about 220 per day, according to Henry Bledsoe, president of Michigan-based Professional Education Services Group.
