Many Santa Rosa County offices are up for election in 2016. In fact, all constitutional offices will be up for election. All of the current constitutional officers will be running for re-election, with the exception of Sheriff Wendell Hall, who has chosen not to run again.
Citizens wishing to run for office must qualify first.
Those who haven’t already declared their candidacy must contact the Santa Rosa County Division of Elections at 850-983-1900 to pre-file in order to be included in the Regular Primary Election Aug. 30.
Pre-filing means candidates who wish to run for office must declare their intent to run for office. They must then turn in petitions signed by Santa Rosa County registered voters (which must be validated) or pay a fee, in lieu of gathering the necessary petitions.
