Rebber steps up in win over Panthers

Tyler Rebber carried the ball only six times prior to Friday night’s game against Milton.

Yet, the junior knew he would be called on to do a little more against the Panthers, especially with the Raiders down two running backs because of injuries. He was ready for the opportunity.

“I prepared all week and worked hard,” Rebber said. “I wanted to do what I could to help the team be in a position to win.”

Rebber played his role well in the Raiders’ 35-0 victory over the Panthers, carrying the ball eight times for 41 yards. He scored a touchdown, too, finding the end zone on a 2-yard run in the second quarter.

“It was my first touchdown of the year,” Rebber said. “I worked hard for it. “It’s a good feeling when you work hard and get something out of it.”

Navarre continues to push forward despite the adversity it has faced, thriving off the next-man-up mentality and believing in the team concept.

It’s why the Raiders have been able to overcome the losses of the highly recruited Michael Carter and Aaron Mitchell. Both are out for the year with knee injuries.
