Run for the Reef has record participation

Run for the Reef had a record number of participants this year with 368 runners registering. Of that number, 93 registered to run the 10K, while the remainder ran or walked the 5K course. The course started and finished in front of the Navarre Beach Fishing Pier and the awards took place at Lagerheads on the pier. There was also a raffle that raised more than $1,000 for the Navarre Beach Marine Sanctuary which includes the care, maintenance and expansion of the artificial reef system in the Sound and the Gulf.

There were approximately 30 registrations for the 1-mile fun run which took place in the Navarre Beach Marine Park. Seymour the Sea Turtle gave out goodie bags to every participant as well as high-5’s as they came through the finish line.
