The newest patrol officer in Gulf Breeze won’t be asking for your license and registration, but if he does speak up it’s bound to get attention.
That’s because Loki the German shepherd K-9 has a loud bark and big teeth.
Officer Travis White will be listening to Loki and following the dog’s anti-crime hunches beginning in December when 14-month-old Loki, his new partner, is scheduled to finish 480 hours of training and start work patrolling and sniffing out illegal drugs.
Named by White for a Marvel superhero, Loki has been specially bred for police work in Slovakia, a major supplier of the K-9 cops. At 64 pounds, he’s a trim and muscular animal, but possesses a sweet disposition, according to his handler.
