NAS Whiting Field Outlying Field to Host F-18 Training

Aircraft evacuating from the Norfolk area will be arriving to Naval Air Station Pensacola today to avoid potentially dangerous weather from Hurricane Joaquin.

These East Coast F-18 jets will be performing training flights at Navy Outlying Landing Field (NOLF) Choctaw tonight through Monday evening as they work to complete required training.  In order to complete all their training before arriving on the aircraft carrier, they need to use NOLF Choctaw for Fleet Carrier Landing Practice (FCLP).

Flights are expected to include both day and evening exercises Friday through Monday.
