Escambia prisoners paying their way in Santa Rosa

The Escambia County Jail inmates who have been housed in Santa Rosa since an explosion destroyed their facility in April 2014 are paying their own way as guests of Sheriff Wendell Hall.

In fact, the checks that keep coming from the Escambia County Clerk of the Court are covering Santa Rosa’s costs and then some, Hall told the Navarre Press. Initially there were about 200 guest prisoners.

“We are not losing any money with the Escambia County inmates,” Hall said.
