While wins have been difficult to come by for the Navarre volleyball team the Raiders have still been competitive this season.
The Raiders (2-6) lost their second consecutive match Thursday, falling in four games to Fort Walton in a non-district showdown. The Raiders fell by the scores of 25-8, 25-13 and 25-16.
The Vikings (5-2) dominated most of the night and always seemed to stay a step ahead of the Raiders, who were tied at 2-2 in the opening game before Fort Walton took control.
The second game was tight as well, the Raiders hanging around most of the way, trailing by four twice at 9-6 and 11-7 before the Vikings pulled away for the victory.
The finale was tight as well, but like the previous two games, the Raiders couldn’t steal the momentum.
First-year Navarre head coach Michelle Lee talked last week about making improvements each week in practice and the Raiders continue to strive for improvement.
The ultimate focus is on district play and the Raiders are currently 0-2 in the three-team District 1-7A standings. Niceville (2-2) is unbeaten in district play while Tate (7-4) is 1-1.
