New Navarre residents Beth McCoy and her husband David adopted a rescue dog in April, they called “Cooper” from the Panhandle Animal Welfare Society (PAWS.) Little did they know at the time – they would be looking for him longer than the dog was a resident in the family’s home.
“He was perfect; quiet and calm,” Beth said. “He was exactly what we were looking for.”
The McCoys had Cooper for about three weeks when the great escape occurred.
“Cooper was shy and timid, but we thought he was just trying to adjust to his new home,” Beth said.
