Argonauts unveil football uniforms

The University of West Florida Argonauts have unveiled their uniforms for their inaugural season in 2016.

You can check out a short video about the look of the uniforms here.

The uniforms will feature four combinations for home and away games. The primary home uniform will consist of a royal blue jersey and white pants. The main road uniform will be a white jersey and grey pants.

The helmets will be a metallic royal blue with a white fade feather wrap toward the bottom of the helm that have specs of silver flakes highlighted by a white facemask and white chinstrap. The Argos logo will be on both sides of the helmet.

“When you see our uniforms you see the University of West Florida,” UWF football offensive coordinator Jamie Deese said in a press release. “It is a jersey that our players are going to be excited about and I feel like it will resonate with our alumni, the student body and the members of the Pensacola community.”

West Florida is just over a year away from the start of its first season of college football. The Argos will play their first game in school history on Sept. 3, 2016 in Naples when they take on Ave Maria. The first home game is a week later against Missouri S&T at Pensacola Bayfront Stadium and the first Gulf South Conference game is Sept. 24 against Valdosta State.
