Fat Albert ride an unforgettable experience

With only a few minutes to go before take-off, I made a sign of the cross with one hand and held an air sickness bag in the other as I sat aboard the Blue Angels’ Fat Albert Friday afternoon at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola.

I was about to experience life on a military aircraft for the first time as part of a media ride-along on the famous C-130, and the moments leading up to takeoff felt comparable to riding up the first hill of a roller coaster, the one that leads to the initial drop.

Only this feeling was about 100 times more intense because I had no clue what to expect, other than my 150-pound body was about to be roughed up a bit from the effects of positive and negative G-Forces and zero gravity.
