Face off over Tiger Point course

Gulf Breeze City Manager Buz Eddy June 25 asked Santa Rosa County Commissioners to delay formal declaration of an intergovernmental conflict over Tiger Point Golf Course — but the board still moved forward.

At stake is the conditional use permit granted by the county to expand the city-owned South Santa Rosa Utility System wastewater treatment plant, which is adjacent to the course.

Residents sought help from the county after the city failed to make good on a number of promises made when the municipality purchased the course for $2.8 million in December 2012. One of those promises was to improve the west golf course, which was instead shut down.
