Chair business not always a day at the beach

06-25-vendor SIZED

Santa Rosa County deputies were summoned to Navarre Towers June 21 after conflict arose between two beach chair vendors.

It wasn’t the first time police had been called to intervene – Seth Harrigan, one of the vendors involved in the dispute, said between June 7 through 21 he called police every day, except for one.

Harrigan alleges that employees of James Calkins, owner of V.I.P. Beach Services, LLC, a competing vendor, have repeatedly relocated his equipment and in one instance “destroyed” an umbrella. However, Harrigan was unable to provide police with proof necessary to take action.
