No algae bloom was found in the water samples taken by the FWC, although that doesn’t rule out the bloom.

The samples taken were from Fort Walton Beach. Samples will also be taken this week in Pensacola. Samples of fish will also be tested.

“Bloom can be patchy, so just because it isn’t in the water samples from one area, doesn’t mean it’s not in another spot,” said Kelly Richmond, who works in the FWC communications office. “We are also having our harmful algae bloom team look at their satellite images to see if they can detect any.”
