James Flanders, wanted for the 2011 murder of Fort Walton Beach resident Marie Carlson, was arrested in Arizona Thursday.
The arrest was announced by the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, the U.S. Marshal-led Arizona WANTED Violent Offender Task Force and the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
Flanders, 46, a former pastor at Calvary Chapel Emerald Coast, was taken into custody in his home in Cochise, AZ. by members of the task force and the Department of Public Safety. Investigators with the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office are in Arizona as the case continues to develop.
Carlson was last seen on Oct. 17, 2011 by Flanders, the father of her then newborn child. The case was featured on the TNT TV show “Cold Justice.”
