Reef life identification cards a helpful tool

Charlene Mauro, director of the Navarre Beach Marine Science Station, has a new tool to help teach students and other Navarre Beach Artificial Reef visitors about the growing population of local marine life.

Mauro helped develop waterproof cards that identify the more than 50 species of fish which have been observed on the artificial reefs located just offshore at Navarre Beach Marine Park, which also houses the Marine Science Station.

Mauro said 500 laminated cards, roughly half the size of a standard letter sheet of paper, were produced in the first printing.
