Bicycle-pedestrian plan moving forward

It’s no secret that the south end of the county isn’t pedestrian friendly, and a recent survey underscored residents’ concerns about safety along U.S. 98.

The county’s South Santa Rosa Bicycle-Pedestrian Master Plan, which is expected to be completed in May, hopes to provide a bicycle loop and recreation route that offers safe alternatives to U.S. 98 following 110 accidents, including 19 fatalities, involving bicycles or pedestrians along the congested corridor since 2006.
