Lisa Muir Wakely spent time in Puerto Rico last month, the place where her love for surfing began.
Muir Wakely was recognized as a “surfing legend” in the country at the Legend Surf Classic and reflected on how her interest in the sport was first ignited as a child.
“I was really lucky because my father was stationed over there as a meteorologist,” she said. “He was also a diver and so I had a platform to get into surfing.”
