Expert reminds kids to think before they send

Gone are the days of gossiping in the girls’ room or embellishing in the locker room. Today’s tweens and teens have multiple platforms on which to share information, sometimes with tragic results.

Between Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook and texting, just one click can change someone’s life, and once a message or a photo makes it into cyberspace, you can’t get it back.

Michael Dasinger, a victim services program specialist with the state’s Bureau of Advocacy and Grants Management, gave a straightforward presentation to students at Woodlawn Beach Middle School Friday morning where he discussed the risks of sharing information through the web and social media.
