Emergency surgery for Gulf Breeze officer dragged by car

Sgt. Kerstan Tatro of the Gulf Breeze Police Department underwent emergency surgery Jan. 5 for a compound fracture of his arm sustained during a traffic stop involving Amy Giorgio, 30, of Gulf Breeze.
According to Gulf Breeze Police Chief Robert Randall, Tatro stopped Giorgio for erratic driving at the base of Pensacola Bay Bridge near 17th Avenue in Pensacola. Giorgio drove away while Tatro’s arm was inside the window, dragging him a short distance before running over him after he fell. “She was extremely impaired,” Randall said.
