Paul Gardner, assistant general manager for Holley-Navarre Water System (HNWS), reports crews worked throughout the night on Turkey Bluff Road to repair a line break which resulted in the loss of roughly 400,000 gallons of water.
During the incident the entire contents of the 300,000-gallon water tower adjacent to the HNWS office was lost and a maintenance and receiving area parking lot was damaged.
Gardner says an unknown problem caused the rupture around 12 a.m. Although some customers lost water pressure, Gardner says the event did not necessitate a boil water notice. He reports repairs were complete at 4 a.m.
