Raider lifters crush competition at Choctaw Invitational

The Raider lifters won the team championship at the Choctaw Invitational Tournament on Dec. 8 by an overwhelming margin. The Raiders captured 93 points. Their nearest competitors in the 12-team event were Pine Forest with 37 points and Niceville with 25. The Raiders also broke several meet records in their first real test this season.

Peyton Watson’s second-place finish earned 6 team points in the 101-pound weight class. She had a 120-pound bench press and a 105 clean-and-jerk for a 225-pound total. Charity Fulfer placed sixth and earned 1 team point. She had a combined lift of 195.

The Diel sisters, Savannah and Brianna, won the 110-pound weight class. Savannah placed first earning 7 points. She had a 140-pound bench press and broke the meet record with a 150-pound clean-and-jerk, for a 290-pound total. Brianna placed second with a 250-pound combined lift.
