Park service plans to raise fees – may add fee to use beach road

If local park management staff get their way, a day-time admission fee could be charged to use Earl Bowden Way, the sole connector road between Navarre Beach and Pensacola Beach. The National Park Service today also announced plans to increase other park fees for Gulf Islands National Seashore (GUIS).

The park service is planning to implement the changes by 2017, but there is a public comment period through Jan. 2, 2015.
