Panhandle caverns lure nearly 100,000 visitors each year

Between July 2013 and June 2014, nearly 100,000 visitors descended upon the 1,300-acre Florida Caverns State Park in Marianna.

“It has been drawing vis­itors for decades due to its geologic and scenic won­ders,” said Brian Rucker, a history professor at Pen­sacola State College (PSC) who also serves as a vol­unteer docent for PSC Geology Club field trips, which explore panhandle and regional geological points of interests.
