Middle school student nabs sea turtle award

Seventh-grader Ariana Mewell received a certificate of appreciation and a pendant Oct. 17 in honor of her work to help sea turtles. The award was presented by Cathy Holmes, Navarre Beach Sea Turtle Conservation Center director, during her fifth period science class, taught by Mike Flowers, at Holley Navarre Middle School. The necklace was donated by the Navarre Beach Marine Sanctuary and crafted by Holley Hill Pottery.
