Enterovirus D68 hits home – Santa Rosa student in recovery

Officials with Santa Rosa County Health Department (SRCHD) confirm an 8-year-old Santa Rosa County student was diagnosed with and is in recovery from Enterovirus D68 (EVD68). A related letter is going home today with students in Santa Rosa County District Schools.

The letter from SRCHD describes symptoms and suggest prevention steps and points out the student is no longer contagious.

Susan Howell, a spokesperson for SRCHD, says she cannot release information about which school the student attends. “It’s a HIPPA violation,” noted Howell.
