Hurlburt Field launches new Intel squadron

The 28th Intelligence Squadron officially celebrated its activation at Hurlburt Field on Sept. 24 at the Soundside club. The squadron is the last of nine reserve squadrons to be stood up under the 655th ISRG, headquartered at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio.

“The AFR has been making a huge investment in intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) this last year,” Colonel Douglas Drakeley said, adding that they have essentially opened a new squadron every 40 days.
