Navarre schools rack up 191K volunteer hours

The Golden School Award is given annually by the Florida Department of Education in recognition of public schools with exemplary volunteer programs, and six Navarre area schools earned the designation for the 2013-2014 school year.

“It’s a win/win combination,” said Superintendent Tim Wyrosdick of volunteer programs between district schools and the community. The entire school district had a total of 7,665 volunteers, contributing 191,475 hours.
