Andrews Institute aims to reduce second-impact syndrome

The 2014 high school football season is underway, and certified athletic trainers from Andrews Institute will be providing medical assessments and services on the sidelines at daily practices and Friday night games — at no cost to the Santa
Rosa School District or players’ families.

It’s an outreach service the Baptist Health Care affiliate has provided since opening in 2007. Last year more than 7,100 injuries were treated and 3,000-plus sports physicals were provided to local area athletes.
