Temperatures scorch Northwest Florida

Last week Navarre recorded possibly the hottest weather of the year. The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a warning for the weekend when temperatures and humidity soared. The NWS warned that most areas would see heat indices between 104 and 107 degrees while some locations were forecast to reach heat indices as high as 108-110.

The heat index at Hurlburt Field at 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, was 94 degrees. Pensacola tied their 1987 record temperature Aug. 24 at 98 degrees.
