School board candidates seek 50 percent plus

A crowded field for Santa Rosa County School Board District 3 may mean that two candidates seeking the job might have another two months or so on the campaign trail after the Aug. 26 primary.

“In non-partisan races, a candidate must get 50 percent of the vote plus one in order to be declared the winner,” Villane said. “If no candidate receives enough votes, then the top two candidates will run again in the general election,” she said.
