Local church helps students get ready for school

Parents and their school-age children stood in line an hour before the doors opened to Navarre United Methodist Church’s annual Back to School Bash.

The Navarre United Methodist Church (NUMC) hosted a Back to School Bash Aug. 9 in Navarre that featured free backpack, school supplies, clothing and haircuts for local children.

“This is an effort to really just love the community from the church,” said pastor Brian Pullin. “It’s really just a way for the church to say ‘Good luck on a new school year, we love you.’”
