Commission praised for south end meeting

DSC_0846Over 50 locals attended the first-ever Santa Rosa County Commission meeting held at the Tiger Point Community Center April 10. A majority of attendees were residents from the south end of the county, although several drove from Milton and Pace to address current issues.

“It’s great for the residents of south Santa Rosa County, and I hope that we see more of it,” said Tony Alexander, president and CEO of the Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Commerce.

County Administrator Hunter Walker, who was hired in 1995, said it was the first board meeting he could recall being held in the south end. However, former County Commissioner Millard Adams said commissioners used to hold meetings at Gulf Breeze City Hall. “Maybe the first time for this facility, but in the 80s we would hold south end meetings once a quarter,” said Adams.
