Five days later he showed why he was so coveted by the Hawks coaching staff. The senior hurler pitched the game of his life in leading Navarre to its first district baseball win of the season against Fort Walton Beach.

Sophomore Matt Cronin followed up his 15 strikeout performance against Escambia Academy with an equally impressive outing March 13 against perennial power Tate. The Aggies had defeated The Raiders 11-1 earlier in the year, and Cronin was not about to let that happen on this night. His complete game three-hitter gave Navarre its second district baseball victory of the week, a third straight win and a little revenge.

Navarre’s three game win streak came to a screeching halt in the first inning of Friday night’s baseball game in Niceville.
The Eagles showed up with their heavy lumber and banged out eleven hits against Navarre pitchers. Two of those three hits were towering home runs off the stick of Niceville’s Tyler Head.
